Cantaloupe - Imperial 45

A summer melon, cantaloupe is a small orange, and a very sweet variety. It needs to be grown in a very warm summer climate, and if that environment isn’t available, then the most southern exposure on the property. A black plastic mulch-tarp placed under the plant will increase the warmth of the soil, and speed growing and harvesting. Cantaloupes need a lot of space for growth, so thin them when they have germinated for best development. The Imperial 45 produces excellent yields of cantaloupes. They are sweet and have a deep orange flesh. Suitable for hot and humid regions, and are excellent for home gardens.

Big yields of round, netted melons with sweet thick, salmon-colored flesh. Keeps well. Tolerates hot, humid growing areas.
