Carrot, Danvers Half-Long Heirloom Heirloom Danvers Half-Long Carrots (also known as just the Danvers Carrot) provide a sweet and crispy crunch that can only come from a home garden. Danvers do better in heavier soils than 'Nantes' varieties.
Place seeds about 1/2 inch in the ground, 2-3 seeds per inch. Rows should be about 12-18 inches apart. The seeds will take about two weeks to germinate. Carrots perform best in consistently moist soil; an inch a week is an adequate amount. Maturity usually takes between 60-80 days.
